Prologue conveys the feeling one gets when anticipating and preparing for an exhilarating, intimidating experience – this piece represents the “prologue” to an experience. As one approaches the experience, he or she becomes even more anxious. This distress is reflected in the music as it contorts and swells. The end of the piece fades away as anticipation gives way to reality.
