Commentary on My Fingerprint (1995):
I carefully designed and manufactured a porous marble that contains a small speaker. When blown on, the speaker plays a shriek. The ribbons inside the marble form a smiling face. Whenever you ingest one of the marbles, your personality turns into this smiling face for a few minutes according to everyone else.
Flyer for Love (1995):
Setup for For-sake (1995):
- Pre-performance installation:
- The performer somehow puts durable bluetooth mics (supplied by the composer) throughout the inside of their body, so that all major organs, muscles, and other areas are in contact with a mic. The performer contains these mics for the rest of their life.
- 24 hours before the performance, output sound from the computer to the speakers in the performance space. Open the file “BodyMicStream.scd”, click anywhere in the code, and press cmd+enter. Let it run as an open-to-the-public installation until the beginning of the performance.
- Performance:
- (Continue running “BodyMicStream.scd”.)
- One table is to the left of the stage and one table is to the right of the stage. On the tables, there are objects (possibly including dangerous objects) selected by the performer.
- A video camera captures the entire stage and feeds into the computer. The computer outputs video to a screen onstage.
- Security guards are present to make sure that no one (besides the performer) is harmed.
